Cop City update - An indictment filed on Fulton County Suprerior Court on August 29 levelled charges against 61 protesters or spuriously some who happened to be in the vicinity. The charges included accusations of racketeering, domestic terrorism, and money laundering related to anti-police protests.The indictment by Christopher M. Carr, Attorney General would probably get a failing grade in a freshman law class in terms of its descriptions used to justify the various charges in the document. It is worth reading.

The Cop City saga continues. As reported in the Guardian on May 18, It has been two years. The movement has continued to advance, but 61 defendents are still waiting for justice. The Constitution be damned. The original indictment is spurious and the delays are having a chilling effect. Will civil liberties have its day? That is the question this story has to offer.

Throwing civil rights and human rights into the mix, May 25 is the anniversary of George Floyd's death. The militarized links between his death and the backlash including the growth of militarized training centers, particularly Cop City, along Israel's training of American police and survelliance support has helped frame protests surrounding Cop City.
